anthropologie shoot in philadelphia

In February I spent a week shooting at the Anthropologie Headquarters in Philadelphia, PA, located in the Navy Yard. I had an incredible time, and met so many talented and wonderful people. Yes, I did eat cheesesteak! In fact, that was the first thing I did after arriving at the bed and breakfast on campus. For those who know the rivalry, I went to Pat’s, not Geno’s. My favourite place was The Dandelion Pub, a block away from the Anthropologie flagship store in downtown. If you ever visit, you must try their Fish and Chips; as a connoisseur, it is the best I have ever had. All the apparel that I shot is now online for you to buy! It’s hard to miss the talent and ambition of Brady Williams, who seeks to strengthen and challenge his culinary skills with each endeavor. Brady is genuine and kind and loves what he does. Even when he’s not creating new dishes and menus for the restaurants that he’s involved with, he is putting together family dinners for friends. Chef Williams cultivates community around his dinner table. (I recently photographed Brady for a new series for Eater, “Chef’s Day Off.”)

project projects with adam, prem, and rob

I had the opportunity to photograph the principals of Project Projects during my last trip to New York City. Adam Michaels, Prem Krishnamurthy, and Rob Giampietro run a design studio in Manhattan, “focusing on print, identity, exhibition, and interactive work with clients in art and architecture.” They were a lot of fun to photograph, and they have some incredibly impressive work you can see here.

What is Projects Projects? A way of life. Cult. Culture. Creed.

How did it start? It began on a whim. We met in the great melting pot of the U.S.A. — to be more precise, on the West Side of Manhattan, near Port Authority.

Who spends the most on take out? Our take out costs are substantial, and roughly speaking, evenly distributed.

I met Vera through a mutual friend, Randy Hunt. You can see him here. Vera owns Vera Meat, a jewelry boutique shop – that is so awesome and you need to go visit her at the flagship store on 9th Street in New York. She came to America at the age of 14 through a modeling career. Fred Meat is her puppy which you will see at the shop trying to steal treats from customers. Some of Vera’s favourite pieces that she’s designed are the dino eating fried chicken ring, spine bracelet & the dino lady necklace. Seriously – great imagination and playfulness is what you’ll find in her store and in her jewelry creations.
